Image manipulation and some excellent news. For me.

I've just been introduced to a great piece of free software called Paint.NET. I'll explain how and why in a minute.

But first, here's a Half Life 2 screenshot I took of Alyx Vance and her father Eli. I played with the "photo soften" options and now it looks like a bad MySpace avatar.

Hours of fun.

Anyway, you are probably not wondering how I stumbled across Paint.NET, but I am going to tell you anyway.

Because you all visit GodisaGeek at least twelve times a day, the nifty banner at the top of the page cannot have escaped your notice. It shows cycling images that link directly to recent features. Who makes these images, you must have wondered? What mighty beings are these, so skilled at cropping screenshots?

Well I'll tell you. The editors do it. And I need to know how to crop images (ok, I kind of knew that already. Stop asking questions) because I am now an editor. Reviews Editor, to be precise. I'm very excited because GodisaGeek is a brilliant site staffed with talented people who write awesome things, and it's growing all the time.

I have some good things lined up for Well-Rendered too, but today is about GodisaGeek and moody doctored photos of Mario.
